When life gives you lemons…

Make Lemonade!

Is there anything more refreshing than ice cold lemonade during these last hot days of summer? 13905181933_740fdfde4f_q

It is so easy to make fresh, homemade lemonade.  It is also healthier and tastier than store bought.  Below you will find 2 of my favorite recipes.

Ginger Lemonade:

  • 2 inches fresh ginger root
  • 2-3 lemons
  • stevia to taste
  • 2 quarts of water

Wash & peel ginger. Grate is finely over a bowl. Squeeze the grated ginger mash with your fingers to extract the juice (I covered mine with a lemon net). Discard the dry mash. Bring water to a boil. Remove from heat and add ginger juice and juice from 2-3 lemons (I used 2). Add stevia to taste and stir well.  Add ice and slices of lemon. Enjoy!

Raspberry Lemonade:

  • 5 raspberries
  • 2-3  lemons, juiced
  • stevia to taste
  • ¾ cup of water
  • ice

Throw the raspberries, lemon juice, stevia  into a blender.  Blend, add ice and enjoy!
*If you don’t have a blender you can mash the raspberries and then add in the other ingredients.
