Waldorf Homeschooling – Math Review

As we jumped in to our January school lessons, Math reviewwas a perfect way to get those juices flowing.

In fact my girls love to do Math (wow! Hope that rubs off on me)

We went through some word problems, which they haven’t had a lot of practice with…I saw them really listening to all my words to pick out the numbers and what is actually been asked.

(This could be a great attention getter when beginning a lesson…)

Then we moved on to long division using 2 and 3 numbers.. I threw in some

addition and subtraction just for fun (and review)

All week in circle time we worked on times tables with bean bags

and these seem to be pretty solid (finally!) so I feel we they are ready

to move along a bit.

I introduced long division with some easy numbers that worked out

with no remainders. 64 divided by 8.. etc..

We will be moving into fractions this winter and I will let

you know how it goes.

Would love your thoughts and comments below.

Hi Dona, Last saturday I was in a circle time with other parents, and a waldorf teacher works with us ,playing and singing with beens bags, and she talked that it was a good exercise  to prepare children for maths class in the future.( Sorry my english is not so good).
