This was so refreshing to read. Remembering the ebb and flow of life with littles helps put home educating into its context of family life and reminds me of the flexibility I have in my choices.

This was such a wonderful article. I have a 9 month old, 2 year old, and 4 year old. My 4 year old has an upcoming birthday and we will begin kindergarten this year and I will keep this advice in mind as we work together on lessons this coming year.

I loved these books as children and am so glad to be reminded why! That is one laid back woman - so fun and in the moment. I love the idea of using Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle as parenting inspiration. So fun! Thanks for sharing this!

Would you share with us the name of the company that makes the audio books?

Living at the core of all of Rudolf Steiner's work is his “Philosophy Of Freedom”. In this book he gives his principles of free thinking and free morality developed in his ascent to freedom. It empowers one's life through deepening scientific inquiry and living according to one's highest ideals. For anyone interested in learning about Rudolf Steiner a new online Philosophy Of Freedom Study Course is available at http://www.philosophyoffreedom.com . Its Free and includes videos, illustrations, and diagrams to help study the book.

Hi Donna:
I always feel so comforted and inspired by your talks. I love how you support fellow parents in their endeavors by reminding them to be gentle with themselves - as we strive to be with our children. We may guide our children's lives and activities around their learning styles and temperments and forget to do the same for ourselves! I love being reminded that there is no "right way" - just the right way for my family. My goal as I begin my first year of home schooling my two children next year is the keep that in mind as I learn what works for us.
Many thanks!

Hi Donna
I really liked your video,a good way to communicate. I have been homeschooling for a couple of years now, doing grades 5 and 7 at the moment. I would like more information on high school with a waldorf influence. I struggle to find any detailed curricula out there,as I am not the most organized, well planned person, and need quite a bit of material to work from. I do enjoy your site,as early years info is still relevant even with older kids, and it is good to be reminded of things.
Thankyou,
Fiona

Hi Donna,

I really enjoyed this video and found it very helpful. You definitely hit on a timely subject, I'm sure, for a lot of us! I would love to hear more about the different curriculum available. I will be teaching 1st and 5th next year with a 3 year old in the mix. All boys. I have always homeschooled with a Waldorf influence and have always ended up using Oak Meadow as my base, often tweaking as needed. I like to skip the things I don't like and add more of the stuff I want for my kids. I've always ended up choosing OM because it feels safe for me to have everything all planned out. I'm also very pulled by Christopherus materials which I have used here and there. I'd like to know more about those curriculums for 1st and 5th. I have Live-ed 1st, which is beautiful and inspiring but intimidates me as there is much left for you to create yourself. This, of course, is the "ideal" with Waldorf education, but not always the reality of this busy mama! I look forward to your next video/article.

Thanks so much,
Crystal
